Smoky & Sweet Bbq Baked Beans

This baked beans recipe is the perfect dish for any barbecue or summer gathering.  The navy beans are coated in a deliciously smoky and sweet sauce made with molasses, brown sugar, and a blend of spices. Smoky & Sweet Bbq Baked Beans

Ingredients
  

  • 2 15-ounce cans of navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • ½ cup red bell pepper, diced
  • ½ cup red onion, diced
  • cup molasses
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon liquid smoke
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground coriander

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl, combine navy beans, red bell pepper, and red onion. In separate bowl, whisk together all remaining ingredients. Pour sauce over navy bean mixture and stir until beans are coated evenly.
  • Transfer mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until beans are hot and bubbly. Let cool a few minutes before serving.
