Manzapera Cocktail Recipe

Servings 1 Drink
Ingredients
- 1 ounce apple pear mixture, recipe below
- 2 ounces Ron del Barrilito 3 Star Rum (or Bacardi Reserve Ocho Rum or Don Q Anejo Rum)
- ¾ ounce lemon juice
- Pear wheel, for garnish
- Lemon twist, for garnish
- Ice
For the apple pear mixture:
- 2 d’Anjou pears
- 1 cup demerara sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon whole allspice
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 2 cups organic apple juice
Instructions
To make apple pear mixture:
- Dice pears then add to pot on medium heat on stovetop with all other ingredients. Allow to simmer 25 minutes until consistency is thicker than juice. Strain through cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer and cool. Refrigerate.
- Place all fresh ingredients in tin with ice and shake. Double strain over ice into rocks glass. Garnish cocktail with pear wheel and lemon twist, if desired.
