Bambi Avocadorita Cocktail

At Bambi Vegan Tacos, the food was only part of the story. The Midtown Sacramento restaurant also became known for its inventive cocktails and mocktails, designed to pair perfectly with its bold, plant-based dishes. As chef Chad Novick explained, “At Bambi, we think first about our menu, and how cocktails will enhance the experience. We primarily use tropical flavors, and we squeeze our juices fresh.”

The Avocadorita was one of their most memorable creations. Smooth, creamy, and refreshing, this cocktail combined avocado with tequila, lime, Triple Sec, and oat milk. It was unexpected, yet entirely craveable—just like the tacos it accompanied. “With the Avocadorita, we wanted to make something that was craveable with our food,” said Novick. “Nothing goes better with tacos than avocado and margaritas.”

This philosophy reflected Bambi’s larger approach: paying attention to the smallest details to create food and drink that worked together. “The spiciness and depth of flavor in our food are complemented by the acidity and freshness of our cocktails … and that is something we consciously consider when crafting our cocktail menu,” Novick explained.

The Avocadorita is more than just a fun spin on a margarita; it represents the innovation and inclusivity that defined Bambi. By rethinking familiar flavors in new ways, Novick and his team attracted a diverse audience that extended well beyond the vegan community. Their cocktails, like their tacos, were designed to be enjoyed by anyone who appreciated fresh, seasonal, and imaginative dining.

Although Bambi closed in 2025, the Avocadorita remains a delicious reminder of its creativity. Blending the richness of avocado with the brightness of lime, it embodies the restaurant’s belief that plant-based dining could be bold, fun, and unforgettable—right down to the last sip.
