Ingredients
  

  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 ounce salted vanilla honey blood orange simple syrup, recipe below Dehydrated orange slice (recipe next page)

For the salted vanilla honey blood orange simple syrup:

  • ½ cup blood orange juice
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Sea salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Combine bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Shake with ice in cocktail shaker and pour over ice into rocks glass. Garnish with dehydrated orange slice.
  • To make the salted vanilla honey blood orange simple syrup, heat blood orange juice, honey, water, vanilla, and salt until sugar dissolves and mixture becomes syrupy. Let cool, then pour into glass container. Can be stored in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
